主任医师，教授，博士生导师，国际著名葡萄膜炎专家，国际眼科科学院院士、四个国际性葡萄膜炎组织的执行理事或成员，被誉为“中国葡萄膜炎诊治第一人”。以负责人获国家自然科学基金创新群体基金、国自科重点项目（4项）、重点国际合作项目（3项）、区域重点项目（1项）、国家重点研发计划、国家重点基础研究发展计划（973计划）等。以第一完成人和/或通讯作者发表SCI论文 350 余篇，连续12 年进入爱思唯尔高被引学者榜。主编五年制规划教材（七、八、九版），独立完成中英文葡萄膜炎专著635万字。以第一完成人获国家科技进步奖3项、省部级一等奖7项。荣获全国五一劳动奖章、全国医德楷模、全国模范教师等荣誉称号。

He is an internationally renowned expert in uveitis, Academician of the International Academy of Ophthalmology, and serves as Executive Director or Member of four international uveitis academic organizations. He is reputed as the leading authority on the diagnosis and treatment of uveitis in China.

As the Principal Investigator, he has undertaken a series of major research projects, including the Innovative Group Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 4 NSFC Key Projects, 3 Key International Cooperation Projects, 1 Regional Key Project, the National Key R&D Program of China, and the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program).

He has published more than 350 SCI-indexed papers as first author and/or corresponding author, and has been selected as an Elsevier Highly Cited Researcher for 12 consecutive years.

He has edited the 7th, 8th and 9th editions of the national five-year higher education planned textbooks. He has independently authored Chinese and English monographs on uveitis, with a total of 6.35 million characters.

As the first awardee, he has received 3 National Science and Technology Progress Awards and 7 Provincial and Ministerial First-Class Awards. He has also been conferred honorary titles including the National May 1st Labor Medal, National Role Model of Medical Ethics, and National Model Teacher.
