Dr. Wei Li is the professor of Ophthalmology at Eye Institute of Xiamen University, director of the department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science, deputy dean of School of Medicine, Xiamen University, China. He works as a cornea and ocular surface disease specialist in Xiamen University affiliated Xiamen Eye Center and Xiamen University affiliated Xiang’an Hospital. He is also honorary Professor at School of Optometry & Vision Sciences, Cardiff University, UK.

The basic research of Dr. Li’s group focuses on corneal stem cell, corneal tissue engineering, and the mechanism of ocular surface diseases such as dry eye and Meibomian gland dysfunction. He has published more than 100 papers on peer-reviewed journals such as IOVS, Stem Cell Reports, Ocul Surf, Adv Sci, J Pathol, Cell Res, and so on.

Dr. Li is now board member and vice president of Asia Dry Eye Society, member of Chinese Dry Eye Society, Asia Cornea Society, Chinese Cornea Society, and member of Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He serves as communication editor of Chinese Journal of Ophthalmology, and academic editor of Ocular Surface, American journal of Ophthalmology and Experimental Eye Research.
