Dr. Bingyao Tan is a Junior Principal Investigator at the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) and an Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. He earned his PhD in Physics from the University of Waterloo in 2017. His research sits at the intersection of optical engineering and clinical ophthalmology, focusing on the development of next-generation ocular imaging systems and computational analysis. Dr. Tan’s work includes quantifying posterior eye shape via ultrawide-field OCT, ultrahigh resolution OCT, nanoscopic detection of retinal cellular movement, and new methodologies for vascular imaging of the retina and choroid.
