Professor Longqian Liu, Ph. D tutor, Head of Department of Optometry and Visual science, Associate Dean, School of Allied Health Professions, Head of Department of Ophthalmology, West China School of Medicine / West China Hospital, Sichuan University. Prof. Liu is also hygiene and health chief expert in Sichuan Province, an academic and technical expert of Sichuan Province and Provincial Health Department, Members of Sichuan expert appraisal committee. Prof. Liu is the committee member of Optometry of Chinese Ophthalmological Society, President of Sichuan Society of Optometry and Eye Care, Honorary President of Department of Sichuan Ophthalmology Doctor Association, Honorary chairman of Department of Ophthalmology of Sichuan Preventive medicine association, the group leader of Sichuan Optometry medical association and the expert committee member of IAOA. He is editors of Chinese Journal of Ophthalmology, Optometry & Visual Science，Chinese Journal of strabismus & pediatric Ophthalmology, Sichuan medical Journal and Medical Journal of West China. He is also the senior optometry expert advisor of Chinese Glasses industry and China Glasses Science-Technology Magazine. He is first FCOVD-A in China.

Prof. Liu is in charge of a number of projects funded by America-China Medical Board, National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Health Ministry, Science & Technology Department of Sichuan Province and Project Orbis. He set up the Optometry Department in Sichuan University in1997, which has already trained more than 80 postgraduate students and 21 doctoral students. He has more than 200 peer-reviewed publications including more 80 SCI papers, and editor of 23 monograph and books.
