贺极苍教授，浙江大学工学学士、中科院上海生理研究所理学硕士、芝加哥大学哲学博士、哈佛大学医学院博士后、美国新英格兰视光学院教授，曾任国内多所院校兼职或特聘教授。美国光学学会会员，国际眼科与视觉研究学会会员，国际《视光学杂志》编委，29本SCI学术杂志审稿人。倡议、组织并主持2012“中美近视高峰论坛”。长期从事视觉光学领域的教学和科研工作，主要研究方向包括人眼近视发生机制、人眼波像差测量及形态学基础、人眼晶状体折射系数测量、人眼调节及老花机制、色觉异常检测和生理及遗传机制、对比度视觉检验，以及人眼光学及视觉质量测量的临床应用。临床研究涉及角膜屈光手术、白内障和青光眼手术、干眼以及角膜接触镜和框架眼镜。

Professor Jicang He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Zhejiang University, his Master of Science degree from the Shanghai Institute of Physiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, and completed postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. He is a professor at the New England College of Optometry in the United States and has served as an adjunct or distinguished professor at several universities in China.

Professor He is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America, a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, an editorial board member of the *International Journal of Optometry*, and a reviewer for 29 SCI-indexed academic journals. He initiated, organized, and chaired the 2012 China–U.S. Myopia Summit.

He has long been engaged in teaching and research in the field of visual optics. His major research interests include the mechanisms underlying the development of human myopia, the measurement and morphological basis of ocular wavefront aberrations, measurement of the refractive index of the human crystalline lens, mechanisms of human accommodation and presbyopia, detection of color vision abnormalities and their physiological and genetic mechanisms, contrast vision testing, and the clinical application of measurements of human ocular optics and visual quality.

His clinical research covers corneal refractive surgery, cataract and glaucoma surgery, dry eye, contact lenses, and spectacle lenses.
