Dr. Chen has long been dedicated to research on macular diseases. As Principal Investigator, he has led various research projects with total funding exceeding 50 million RMB, including grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and major special projects commissioned by the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission. He has served as Principal Investigator for more than 50 multi-center clinical trials, both domestic and international. He has published over 400 papers in peer-reviewed journals such as The Lancet Digital Health, NPJ Digital Medicine, Cell Reports Medicine, Progress in Retinal and Eye Research, and Nature Medicine, including more than 260 SCI-indexed articles and 20 articles with impact factors greater than 10. He has served as Editor-in-Chief of more than 10 academic monographs and as translator of monographs exceeding 15 million Chinese characters. His honors and awards include the Second Prize of the National Scientific and Technological Progress Award, the First and Second Prizes of the Beijing Municipal Scientific and Technological Progress Award, and the Huaxia Scientific and Technological Progress Award.
