本科毕业于中国科学技术大学,获生物学、计算机科学与技术双学士学位;博士毕业于中国科学院昆明动物研究所,获动物学博士学位。在美国精神卫生研究所视觉系统双通路理论的创立者、美国科学院院士Dr. Ungerleider的实验室进行博士后的研究。刘宁研究员主要以非人灵长类动物猕猴为模型,结合清醒猴功能磁共振成像技术与其他多种研究手段(如行为学、药理学、电生理、神经计算模型等),同时结合基于健康人群和脑疾病患者的观察与实验,从细胞、系统和行为等方面,多层次、多角度地研究认知功能及其相关脑疾病的神经机制,并针对相关脑疾病发展新的早期检测和有效治疗方案。主持和参与多项国家和省部级科研项目,包括中科院战略性先导科技专项和前沿科学重点研究项目、科技创新2030-“脑科学与类脑研究”重大项目、国家自然基金委重点项目等。已在Cell,Nature Communications,PNAS等期刊上发表相关学术论文40余篇。入选“中国科学院引才计划青年项目”。
Dr. Liu received dual Bachelor’s degrees in
Biology and Computer Science and Technology from the University of Science and
Technology of China, and a Ph.D. in Zoology from the Kunming Institute of
Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Liu then conducted postdoctoral
research in the laboratory of Dr. Leslie G. Ungerleider, a member of the U.S.
National Academy of Sciences and a pioneer of the dual-stream theory of the
visual system, at the National Institute of Mental Health.
Dr. Liu’s research uses non-human primates,
particularly macaques, as a major model system. By combining awake-monkey
functional magnetic resonance imaging with behavioral, pharmacological,
electrophysiological, and computational approaches, as well as observational
and experimental studies in healthy individuals and patients with brain
disorders, XXX investigates the neural mechanisms underlying cognitive
functions and related brain diseases across cellular, systems, and behavioral
levels. This work also aims to develop new strategies for early detection and
effective intervention in relevant brain disorders.
